Lauren Ha

Dr. Lauren Ha (she/her) is an accredited exercise physiologist and post-doctoral research fellow from Sydney, Australia. Driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of children with cancer and their families through movement and exercise medicine, Dr Ha integrates her clinical expertise into her research practice. Her research explores innovative digital technologies to improve access to physical activity education and support services, aiming to deliver more equitable, engaging, and person-centred care. Dr Ha holds a Fellowship by The Kids’ Cancer Project and has secured more than $AUD 2.8mil in research funding. Recently, she was awarded the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) Oceania Rising Star of 2025.

Vanessa Sales

Vanessa Sales (she/her) recently obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology at Queen’s University. Vanessa is a research assistant at both St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the University of the Fraser Valley. Her research is dedicated to developing and improving interventions for individuals with mood disorders, and pediatric cancer and blood disorder patients and survivors. She is passionate about improving accessibility of treatment and quality of life in these diverse populations. At the Move Well Lab, she is helping to support the adaptation of the IMPACT (IMplementation of Physical Activity for Children and Adolescents on Treatment) program to British Columbia, Ontario, and the Maritimes.

Research Assistant (MD/PhD Candidate)

Emma McLaughlin

Emma McLaughlin (she/her) is an MD/PhD Candidate and exercise professional at the University of Calgary. Her program of research is focused around developing and delivering evidence-based programs and resources to help children and adolescents affected by cancer move more. She helps to coordinate the deliver the IMPACT (IMplementation of Physical Activity for Children and Adolescents on Treatment) intervention and trial in Alberta. Emma is also a Research Assistant with the Move Well Lab, and is helping to support the adaptation of IMPACT to British Columbia, Ontario, and the Maritimes.

Eden Baerg

Since Spring 2023, Eden has been working as a Research Assistant in the Move Well Lab, where she has contributed to the SPIN-SSLED and SPIN Resilience projects, supported the IMPACT project, and is now becoming more involved in the YAY project. Eden graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of the Fraser Valley in December 2024, and also completed her yoga teacher training recently! Eden is especially interested in the intersections of yoga, cancer, and mental wellness, and how psychological well-being can influence quality of life and treatment outcomes.

Djellza Dani

Research Assistant (BScH, MHSc)

Djellza Dani (she/her) recently obtained a Master's of Health Science from the University of Toronto. Djellza previously graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Neuroscience from the University of Windsor. Djellza is currently a Research Assistant at Scleroderma Patient-Centered Intervention Network (SPIN) at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research. Her research is dedicated to developing evidence-based interventions for individuals with rare, chronic conditions. She is passionate about patient-centered research, ensuring inclusion of patients throughout the research process. At the Move Well Lab, she is helping to support the adaptation of the IMPACT (IMplementation of Physical Activity for Children and Adolescents on Treatment) program. 

Research Assistant (BSc, MSc Kin Student)

Chris Consumeller

Chris Consmueller is currently conducting his Master’s of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie, where he is working on a randomized clinical trial that is investigating the effects of lifestyle interventions on cardiovascular health and frailty. Simultaneously, Chris is working as a research assistant within the Hematology and Oncology department at the IWK Health Centre. In this role, Chris has helped launch the Maritime arm of the IMPACT (IMplementation of Physical Activity for Children and Adolescents on Treatment) program. In addition to research, Chris is heavily involved within the community with numerous long-term volunteer experiences. Chris is passionate about bringing positive energy to the community and doing everything he can to improve people’s lives.
